Description

Manage daily activities on the production floor. The Production Manager is responsible for all Shift Supervisors and their subordinates. He/she needs to be very hands-on and able to delegate responsibility. He/she answers directly to the Plant Manager

Essential Functions:

  1. Manage and schedule all production employees
  2. Manage production and throughput of product
  3. Oversee the management of the plant in a sanitary and safe manner
  4. Assist in ordering of raw materials
  5. Manage all shift supervisors
  6. Assist in minimizing downtime by working with Supervisors/Managers and maintenance staff
  7. Oversee daily production and sanitation records
  8. Oversee all issues related to product quality
  9. Oversee daily food safety and food security procedures
  10. Implement training to ensure personnel are competent to carry out functions related to product safety, legality and quality
  11. Must be able to work weekends, when needed.

Additional responsibilities:

Member of an upper-management team that is responsible for solving all major company decisions. Meet with all managers on a monthly basis to discuss facility problems. A member of the Food Safety Committee, HACCP, SQF team

Requirements

  1. 2-3 year’s production bakery manufacturing experience
  2. HACCP certified
  3. Solid organization skills with driven work ethic
  4. Troubleshooting skills
  5. Computer skills
  6. Knowledge of plant efficiencies & throughput
  7. Excellent people skills
  8. Bi-lingual a plus but not required

Training:

  • Annual training in GMP procedures, Safety, Food Safety, Food Security, Allergens, HACCP, Sanitation and Hygiene
